Sonnyboy’s Run

1. Objective

You control Sonnyboy, a beachside speedboat operator in the Philippines.

Your goal is to survive successive “Months” (waves) of incoming bills by paying them off and managing two key resources:

1. Cash (Green Bar & Number)

– Represents Sonnyboy’s remaining funds (starts at 30).

– Drains by –1 each second (ongoing living costs) and by –1 each time you pay a bill.

– If Cash ever reaches 0 → Instant Bankruptcy → Game Over.

2. Financial Stress (Magenta Bar & Number)

– Represents Sonnyboy’s stress level from unpaid bills (starts at 0%).

– Each time a bill collides with Sonnyboy, Stress +8%.

– If Stress ever reaches 100% → Stress Overload → Game Over.

Survive through Month 1 – 4 by paying the required number of bills per wave. Upon reaching Month 5, a “Big Cash Infusion” of extra pickups drops to help rebuild your bank.

2. Controls

1. Drag to Move

Click (desktop) or touch (mobile) near Sonnyboy’s avatar (👨🏽‍🦱) and drag to reposition him anywhere on the screen.

This lets you intercept bills before they collide.

2. Auto-Pay Mechanic

Whenever an incoming bill (🛵 or 🍺) comes within roughly 200 pixels of Sonnyboy, he automatically fires a “payment shot” at it.

No extra buttons—just position Sonnyboy so bills enter his auto-fire radius.

3. Incoming “Enemies” (Bills)

Motor Scooter Repair Bill (🛵)

Food & Wife’s Drinking Expenses Bill (🍺)

Both spawn from off-screen edges and home in on Sonnyboy’s location.

As soon as they get within auto-fire range, Sonnyboy “shoots” (auto-pays) them, spending 1 Cash per bill.

If a bill makes direct contact (collides) with Sonnyboy, his Stress +8%.

4. Pickups & Special Items

1. 💰 Cash Infusion

Adds +18 Cash when collected.

Helps refill the green Cash bar before it hits zero.

2. 💼 Stability Fund

Reduces Stress by 30% when collected.

Useful for lowering your magenta Stress bar and avoiding overload.

3. 🏦 Bailout Package (“JAY”)

Collecting this triggers a “bulk payment”: roughly 60% of all on-screen bills are cleared instantly.

Marked with the text JAY beneath the bank icon.

Does not cost any Cash.

5. Wave Progression

Each “Month” (wave) requires you to pay 28 × (current month) bills to advance:

Month 1 → 28 bills

Month 2 → 56 bills

Month 3 → 84 bills

Month 4 → 112 bills

With each new month, bills spawn faster and in greater numbers.

Reaching Month 5 triggers a “Big Cash Infusion”: ten extra 💰 pickups drop from the top, letting you refill your Cash bar en masse—provided you can survive long enough to reach this wave.

6. Game-Over Conditions

1. Bankruptcy:

If Cash ≤ 0 at any moment, you go bankrupt.

A red overlay appears on your Stress bar, then the “Game Over” screen displays.

2. Stress Overload:

If Financial Stress ≥ 100%, Sonnyboy collapses under the burden of unpaid bills.

Instantly ends the run, regardless of remaining Cash.

3. Final Screen:

On game over, you’ll see “Too much financial stress—I feel like we’re gonna go bankrupt. I want a divorce—no money, no honey.”

The mini-CRT in the overlay will rain scooter icons (🛵) as a final touch.

7. Tips & Strategy

Positioning Is Key:

Stay near the center so bills from any direction enter auto-fire range quickly.

Balance Cash vs. Stress:

If Cash ≤ 5, focus on grabbing 💰 Cash Infusions to avoid immediate bankruptcy.

If Stress ≥ 70%, hunt for a 💼 Stability Fund to drop stress before it maxes out.

Use Bailout (JAY) Wisely:

Hold onto the 🏦 JAY until bills cluster heavily. One bailout can clear dozens of bills and save both Cash and Stress.

Plan for Month 5:

Surviving waves 1–4 is challenging but rewarding, since Month 5’s ten 💰 pickups let you build a cash buffer.

Enter Month 5 with at least moderate Cash (≥ 10) and low Stress (≤ 50%) to capitalize on the bonus.

With these controls and strategies, you’ll navigate Sonnyboy through bill after bill, trying to keep both Cash and Financial Stress under control until—if you’re skilled enough—you make it to that life-saving wave 5 cash rain. Good luck!
